Design and implementation of industrial landfill using GCL geocomposite

Designing and implementing an industrial landfill using GCL geocomposite is a modern and effective method for the safe disposal of industrial waste. GCL, or geocomposite clay liner, is a very low permeability sheet made from a combination of geotextile and bentonite layers. This material acts as a waterproofing layer in the landfill system and prevents leachate from penetrating into the soil and groundwater.

In the design of a landfill with GCL, first the landfill site is selected according to environmental standards and regulations. Then, the landfill bed is prepared with clay or similar materials and the GCL layer is installed on it. After that, drainage and leachate collection layers are placed on the GCL. Finally, the waste is buried in the landfill layer by layer and each layer is covered with soil.
